High Speed Rail in Washington?
From The Everett Herald:

Federal stimulus funds could be used to build a high speed rail corridor from Vancouver, BC to Eugene, Oregon. Upgrades would at minimum allow us to use the Amtrak Cascades service closer to its design speed of 150 mph.
This would be great news. Having been on high speed trains in Europe and along the Northeast Corridor in the East Coast this is the way to do long-distance travel. A higher speed makes the train more competitive with flying and much more competitve than driving.
