Washington’s Highway Funds Stretch

Due to the economic downturn, bids for highway projects are coming in below estimates, meaning that the Stimulus money received is going further.
The same thing is happening to Sound Transit’s bids to build the University Link extension.
While it is unfortunate that the economy is so bad that this is happening, it is good for the large backlog of major projects that need to be completed in our state. This also tracks with what is happening around the country.
