“Smarter Highways” Project Underway
From WSDOT:http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/smarterhighways/ This project will add signage to I-5, I-90 and SR 520 around Seattle to allow for closing lanes and variable speed limits. This will be very similar to systems in place in Europe. Whether this will help or harm traffic remains to be seen. More: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cd0doR0Ga-I
