Downtown Tacoma Gets Paid Parking

To free up parking spaces, Tacoma is adding parking pay stations downtown, similar to those in Seattle. The idea is by charging a parking fee, users will not stay parked all day. The rate will be .75 per hour, much lower than in other Northwest cities.
While it is frustrating to lose free parking, there are other alternatives to get in and out of downtown, more in fact than many cities have.
