Supreme Court Hears Case About Building Tracks on Interstate 90

An Eastside group is suing the state over the plan to run Link Light Rail over Interstate 90 in the Express Lanes. They claim that the state constitution disallows use of the roads for other purposes.
While I understand the potential legal problems, it is already quite clear that even the express lanes don’t help the dire traffic issues on the Eastside much. Since the money nor will of the people is there to run another bridge to the Eastside this is the best solution.
I also find it kind of funny that Kemper Freeman, the Eastside developer of Bellevue Square is against this, considering that the train will have a stop right outside of the mall, or within a block or 2 of it. I know I would head there more if I didn’t have to deal with the traffic on Interstate 405…
