Pierce Transit May Cut Service to East Pierce County Cities

Due to lowered income from sales taxes, Pierce Transit may be forced to cut service to Bonney Lake, Sumner, Buckley and Orting. Unfortunately these cities are further out and some have no or little freeway access, so this is one of the worst possible choices.
On the other hand, the voters refused to see the value of a decent transit system. A small increase in the sales tax could have allowed more options. Now, the only option may be to not live in those areas.
This shows again that relying on sales taxes to fund services is not sustainable.
