The End of the Ruston Way Tunnel

The Ruston Way Tunnel, closed to traffic on August 13th, will be filled with dirt in a future project. Residents gathered to sign a banner that will be put in the tunnel.
Like many from the South end, I have fond memories of the tunnel. Being narrow, dark and having a sharp turn at the end, you always had to blow your horn in the tunnel. Furthermore, it was the only way through the ASARCO smelter when it was operating.
It will be missed.
