Bellevue Is Getting a Tunnel

Sound Transit has approved splitting the cost with Bellevue to run East Link in a tunnel downtown.
This is the right decision. Having rail, or any kind of high capacity transit, at grade in the core of a city is a bad idea. The addition of at-grade crossings only reduces the speed of the system and increases the potential of accidents.
Great to see this project move forward.
