TriMet Getting 55 New Buses in 2012

Four of the buses will be hybrids for testing. It is always good to see upgrades happening in heavily used systems. Ben

First Lawsuit Against the Columbia River Crossing

TRI-MET Cracking Down on Fare Evasion

From TRI-MET: http://trimet.org/news/fare-enforcement.htm  TRI-MET has increased their fare patrols and eliminated just handing out warnings. As the economy continues to worsen, taxpayers are demanding less free rides. Hopefully programs like this will work to increase farebox recovery rates. Ben

Columbia River Crossing Could Be $100 Million Less

From WSDOT: http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/News/2011/08/26_CRC_CutsProjectCost.htm  The cost of the Columbia River Crossing project has dropped by an estimated $100 million due to changes in the design and more certainties around the schedule. While the design will be plainer than originally planned, we need to move ahead with this project. Ben
